Caring for Your Dental Health
Cosmetic dentistry includes any procedure performed to correct imperfections in the appearance of the mouth. Anyone who is unhappy with their smile can have it fixed. The upper teeth usually show, only when smiling, while the lower teeth typically remain hidden. This is reversed when talking, with the upper teeth remaining hidden and the lower teeth show. The color, alignment, and spacing, as well as the regularity of the teeth, are the characteristics that contribute to their overall appearance. Any of these areas can be cosmetically repaired giving you a stunning mouth!
Q: I just want my smile to look good. What are some options to help the appearance of my smile?
A: You are not alone. Most people want to have a nice smile since it is the first thing others notice about you. You may be interested in a few minor adjustments or you may have concerns that need more attention. Some smiles can be enhanced with simple whitening or bonding treatments. Other smiles need porcelain veneers, crowns or bridges; gum contouring; periodontal therapy or a combination of all these techniques. Drs. Louscher and Brantner will suggest a treatment plan for you based on your goals, on your areas of concern and on the overall condition of your oral health.
Teeth Whitening
Are you are thinking of having other cosmetic improvements done, such as crowns, porcelain veneers or new fillings to replace your old, discolored ones?
Bonding
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material to the front of the tooth, matching the resin color to the existing tooth.
Porcelain Bridges
A bridge is composed of crowns on each of the teeth located on either side of the gap and a tooth-like restoration in the gap itself.
Veneers
Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
Porcelain Crowns
A tooth-like crown made of porcelain can be used to restore chipped teeth, broken teeth, gaps in teeth, and other damage.
